Canary Islands and Its First Dwellers

Canary Islands is also synonymous to Islas Canarias or islands of the dogs, the Fortunate Isles, Happy Islands, and Garden of the Hesperides. On the other hand, many historians believe that the Canary Islands, along with the other islands belonging to Micronesia, are the remnants of the lost continent of Atlantis. This group of islands was once known as Atl ntida, too. There were ancient records of indigenous populations called Guanches, which traces their origins to the Berbers of northern Africa. Maybe what was just a “Canary Islands holidays” for them, turned out to be a permanent migration. Click here for details.
